Beacon Morris Unit Heater
Steam Heating and Hot Water Heating
|
Steam and Hot Water Unit Heaters are comprised of a heating coil that is energized by either
steam or hot water produced by a boiler or some type of central water heating device. Hung from the ceiling,
a fan mounted behind the coil forces air through the hot coil thus drawing heat out of the coil
and "throwing" it in to the area where heat is required. This product works on the same principle
as your car's radiator. As your car engine runs and produces heat, coolant is pumped through the
engine to a radiator coil in front of the engine. The fan under the hood blows air through the
radiator coil drawing the heat out of the coolant, which helps to dissipate excessive heat from
your engine.
Beyond commercial/industrial uses, Beacon Morris has created Serpentine unit heaters that can be
easily installed in your garage, basement, crawl space or work-shed. These heaters are referred to
as Serpentine units because copper tubing winds its way through the aluminum coil and efficiently
draws heat from the hot water as it is pumped through it. As you can see by the above photograph, the
Serpentine unit heaters are tapped on the side which allows for easy installation close to the
ceiling as well as making piping in to your existing forced hot water system easily done. We
recommend putting the heater in an out of the way corner of your garage and that you use an
optional OSHA approved fan guard.

In cold parts of the country, especially in Alaska, these powerful, compact unit heaters are
considered a necessity to keep winter's grip out of the garage and to make for easy automobile
start-ups on the coldest of mornings. Even if you don't live as far north as Alaska,
Beacon/Morris Serpentine unit heaters are a great choice for your comfort as well as for adding
value to your home.
Beacon-Morris steam/hot water unit heaters are CSA certified.
